The square U-shape means everyone faces each other instead of sitting in a line. Better for conversation, better for hosting guests. That's the point of this layout.

280×280cm with three equal sides×seats 6-8 adults comfortably around the U. Not designed for TV watching where everyone faces one direction. This is for talking to each other.

Works best centered in square-ish rooms or floated in larger open spaces. The symmetry looks right from any angle×asymmetrical U-shapes can look odd in some layouts.
